What to expect from the Tiberius 9.1? (Updated)

What to expect from the Tiberius 9.1? (Updated)

February 9, 2010 in Featured, Marker Previews, Previews 6 Comments

Tiberius Arms is a well known magazine-fed paintball marker company. They are also the creators of the First Strike round, along with the world’s very first dedicated sniper rifle, the T4. We recently saw a very nice update to their pistol, the T8. The new version, titled the Tiberius 8.1, had a significant amount of updates and improvements that allowed the users to attach a remote line directly to the gun among other nifty features and a huge price cut to make it available to more people (watch the full review of the Tiberius 8.1 here).

Since the Tiberius 8.1 has been released, we have seen the T9 stock in stores drop in price and become less and less available, signalling a possible new “T9.1″. With the innovation and creativity coming from Tiberius Arms, we can expect some new features with this marker, some which we haven’t seen in the current line-up, although we do know that the marker will be First Strike ready out of the box this time.

Rumors and Possibilities

New Air System
Rumors have pointed to the Tiberius 9.1 having a 13CI 3000PSI tank-in-stock (just like the Milsig markers), this would allow the Tiberius to compete directly with other milsim mag-fed marker companies and adding more flexibility to their air system. We also can expect a remote line adapter or connection to allow a tank to be run off-gun on the user’s back or vest.

New Magazines? (Update: no)
If Tiberius has adopted the tank-in-stock system, this will allow the marker to have more shots per tank than a regular 12 gram Co2. It is likely that Tiberius will use a new magazine that allows more shots per mag than their previous markers. It is also possible that we will see the T9.1 adopt the T4 magazines which will allow a large amount of First Strike to be used right out of the box.

Update: We have heard confirmation that the Tiberius 9.1 will continue to use the same magazines as the Tiberius 8.1. This is good news for those of us who have already purchased extra 8.1 magazines. We may also see some valve-less magazines sooner since the air system in now in the stock rather than the magazine.

Quick Disassembly
Since the release of the Tiberius T4, we haven’t since seen a milsim marker that can compare to the ease of disassembly that the T4 offers. It is very possible the Tiberius 9.1 will be very simple to disassemble and may even improve upon the technology behind the T4 (watch the review of the Tiberius T4 here).

Announcement at Paintball Extravaganza 2010
One very likely rumor we have heard is that Tiberius Arms will be announcing the Tiberius 9.1 at the 2010 Paintball Extravaganza. If this is true, we could see Tiberius 9.1s in the wild as soon as late March or April and a whole new look at milsim paintballing!

These are all things that we would like to see with the  Tiberius 9.1 only time will tell if they come true. Stay tuned for more news!

Very cool! Definitely would be a huge benefit if they had different mags than the old T9 so you could use more shots per mag! :D
    Very nice article! Nice concept!

Will like to see an extended mag maybe 12 shots.
Or if they have moved the mag up front and say its 14 shots still have the ability to use the old 8 shot mags. That way to any one with a T9 with 6 or 10 mags laying around can use them in the T9.1 and its an affordable upgrade.
