I don't agree with your opinion on the durability of the different style of markers.
In my many years of playing paintball in comes down to maintenance, on how the marker will perform and last.
What I find is that the problem with the speedball side of the sport is that most want to add more performance to the stock marker, so they start changing out parts and this is when the reliability problems start cause most do not truly know how to install these items.
But it's not exclusive to speedball, I know many scenario players that have frequent issues with their woodsball markers because they had to start adding performance enhancing products.

Now, i dont have a speedball marker, so I may be wrong in some areas, but this is just observations i have made from Scenario and Local fields i have played at.

Speedballers always have batteries they have to keep track of, both for their hopper and marker, While alot of Woodsballers either have gravity fed hoppers, things like Cyclone feed/Rip Clip, or Milsim Magazine fed markers, so batteries dont really apply to them unless they have an E trigger or a speedball hopper.

And the scenario game i went to we played a night game, and it was raining. Alot of the speedballers didnt want their markers to get in the mud when they slip, which is understandable because speedball guns arent cheap. But people who own Tippmanns and BT's will generally put that thing through mud, and still come up with a fully functional gun once they clean it up a little.

So basically if you didnt want to read all of me horribly explaining my observations, ill recap it

I am agreeing with ratzo, and also adding a little bit more to his explanation.

Also, thanks Ratzo

We can run gravity, we just have to put our eyes on so we don't chop.
Speed ballers who don't want there guns scratched and don't use them through rough terrain are just posers.

I have both, milsim and speedball

First of all, Not all speedballs are E-griped, Mech speedball markers run almost just as fast as top line electro's, just learn to walk that trigger.
so no.. not all speedball players carry extra spare bats.. yes not even for their loaders for not all loaders are battery powered.

and 2nd, As much as you probably seen speedballers run and hide during the rain, I've seen the same amount for woodsball/milsimers. Hell I change out my marker also, I bring out my backup and put my main back, I didn't spend lots of cash on my barrels only to have the inside get scratched up with mud/rocks
and have my balls start to curve.
same goes for my speedball markers, I bring out backups.
and anyone who just doesnt have a backup marker.. i dont know.. either too new to the game or just flat broke.

This rain thing is fun. I've seen people run for cover at the site of a rain cloud and then i've played tournaments in down pours and the only thing people were concerned about was taping up the porting on the barrel and replacing the speedfeeds back to the original hopper lid to keep the rain out of the hopper.

I only have a main, and its my tippmann, Most of the ups i got are metal, so all i got to worry about them are scratches, and i got a hammerhead barrel, and im not really affraid to get that scratched because the barrel costs 100 dollars, and the 5 fins cost 100 too, but i highly doubt my fins will get scratched, and if they do, it will only be one..

So basically i only have a main because during every paintball game, i want to play to the fullest. Which is mainly why i picked a tippmann, because you didnt really have to worry about it that much, other then oiling and taking care of it after every days game.

I think its ok, but then again you have to think about this.

The speedball gun it designed for the speedball feild and the milsim gun its designed for the woodsball feild. if you bring a milsim gun on a speedball feild you'll have some problems as well for the speedball gun on the woodsball feild.

i say if you have a speedball gun don't get another for the woods. Though milsim guns do fit in better in the woods, they still don't fit in why? Your not fighting in the woods in real combat anymore. The most recent thing like that was geogria v.s russia there wasn't even any real combat there. Then on top of that there's almost always a hopper on top, you have your mask and tank or something else will be out of place. So if you want to get a milsim marker go get it. If you don't fine. Now cons and pros:

SpeedBall-Cons:

- Out of place

- Center feed

- Colour

- Needs batteries

SpeedBall-Pros:

- Weight

- Speed

- Electronics

- Comfort

- Size

- Pampered in woods

- Always up

Milsim-Cons

- Weight

- Size

- Offset Hopper

- Useless plastic crap

- Performance or lack of

Milsim-Pros

- Looks

- Matte Black

- Reliability

- Customizability

- Beat the crap out of it and still works

- Side feed

- Modes

- Accuracy

Colour to me isnt a con,
Every gun comes in every basic colour, just get it black.
Center feed is also a con,
You dont have the hopper sticking out on the right side of the marker and have center feed can easily hide the hopper by tilting it in towards the bunker you are hiding behind.

A lot of times a speedball player will have a glossy or bright colour wich if in a concealed position could give them away.

You have chrome on your gun and your going through some brush, the sun shines on it and bang you've got threeMinigun unloading on you and you only haveRifleif that. you do the math.
